The first rays of light
stab through the darkness
as the sun gathers it's first glimpse
of the sandy shore on which I sit
The velvet blanket of night
slowly folds back
much like the receding tide
that ever so playfully runs up to meet me
before running back scared to her waiting mother
the ocean
I go to stand on the rocks
a solitary figure lost in a chasm
of emotions too intense to express
the beauty I see this glorious dawn
is unimaginable, so innocent,
yet so powerfully moving
I can't help but to cry
