The emotional ghetto.
It's a mind state created by an oppressive environment. Where no matter how hard you try to do the right thing, life still kicks you in the teeth, and stands on your neck.
Don't fool yourself and dismiss these lyrics as simple angst or frustration. This is about war. This is about fighting to the very last breath in an effort to leave emotional poverty behind and move into a life that feels worth living.
To do this, I feel that the brutal truth has to come to light and become real to me. Not only about abuses others have inflicted upon me, but the abuses I've inflicted upon myself. These songs are simply entries in a war journal, where the battles never end...
A Caffeine Kind of Mellow (1994) contains the first songs I wrote after the end of Teragin Mist as a band and the beginning of Teragin Mist as my solo project.
After innumberable personal setbacks in trying to release a full length CD, I finally had to admit temporary defeat and release another cassette. Carbonated (1997) is being released by sheer force of will. From the cover design to the songwriting to the recording, every step of the way was plagued by one problem after another. As to the results of all the drama that went into creating Carbonated, I'll let you decide after you check out the lyrics.
